Vox Populi is a community singing group based in Sheldon, Birmingham. The group aims to deliver concerts and music-based projects, primarily in community venues, and to experience and communicate a wide variety of musical styles including popular, contemporary, world and early music.
There are no auditions, and the members of the group believe strongly in making the group accessible to all sections of the community. We are a small group, around nine, who meet in the School Hall on Wednesday evenings, 7:15pm to 9:00pm, at Stanville School, Sheldon. We are a friendly, fun loving group of mixed ability, with a number of mature members and we are always looking to increase our numbers.
Our Artistic Director, Kate Buttolph, is well respected in the arts world and has been our leader and a good friend for many years.
As always we are looking for new members. If you wish to come and see if you want to join us, let us know by email (see contacts page). No singing ability required, just the desire to have fun. Don't let the fact that we are in rehearsal for future concerts put you off. We can always accommodate new members and we wouldn't throw you in at the deep end. You never know, you might just enjoy yourself as we do.
